Why Corrections Matter Here

Many of our pages deal with facts that change: association fees, school attendance zones, county procedures, and builder offerings. A reader who spots an outdated detail helps every other reader avoid a costly assumption. We would rather fix a page quickly than defend it.

What to Include

Tell us the page, the statement you believe is wrong, and — if you can — an official source that shows the correct information. Corrections about jurisdiction, taxes, schools, and age restrictions are reviewed with priority. We follow our editorial policy when evaluating changes.

Corrections are acknowledged by email, and once a change is verified the page is updated and its review date refreshed. If the error involves an affiliated business listed in our network directory, we will pass it to that business as well. Our Terms of Use explain the limits of general information on this site.

Common corrections involve county attribution for communities with Fort Mill mailing addresses — see the address explainer — and HOA details that change over time.

What Happens After You Report

We check the report against the official record or document you cite, and against our own sources. If the page is wrong, we correct it and, for material changes, note the correction here with the date and what changed. If we cannot confirm the report, we may contact you for more detail. Small fixes such as broken links or typos are made without a public note. Corrections apply equally to evergreen guides and weekly Journal stories, including stories such as the Indian Land buyer's checklist.

If you represent a business or community we cover, you can also send updated details through Submit a Business or Contact.

How to Report an Error

Tell us which page is wrong, what it says, and what you believe is correct. If you can, include the official source — a county record, a district lookup, or an association document. The most common issues we review are jurisdiction labels (county versus postal label, explained in our address guide), school assignments (see schools), tax explanations (see property taxes), and community amenities (see HOA amenities).

We review every report against our editorial policy. Accessibility problems are handled the same way; see Accessibility.
